My Brightest Diamond – A Thousand Shark’s Teeth

My Brightest Diamond is an aquired taste. You have to appreciate beauty of the sound. To many people it may be too soft. Her sound is very dark but it is contrasted with her beautiful opera toned voice. This album is slighty different that her last release “Bring Me The Workhorse”. This album focuses more on her vocals with less epic instrumentation. With that being said there are a few tracks like her first single “Inside A Boy” that will remind you of what you loved about “Bring Me The Workhorse”. Its worth the listen and it may put you to sleep but you will have sweet dreams.

Boris – Smile

Boris is a Japanese stoner rock band if you have never heard of them. They have release 17 studio albums since 1996. I cannot say that I have even listened to close to all of them. The most famous release to date here and over seas would have to be their genre bending masterpiece “Pink”. Thier newest release “Smile” is a change up from their style on “Pink”. Many critics have slammed Smile because they do not seem to stick to one style of rock. Smile is still very prague and abstract but it seems to be much softer than “Pink” and some of their other releases. I personally like smile it is reminicesnt of a Japanese verion of Mars Volta. The songs are heavy at times and softer at times. The lead singer switches so effortlessly from Japanese to English that you cannot understand what hes saying but that is not the reason I listen to Boris. Its the sound that makes them. Pick it up for sure!

Kam Moye (Supastition) – Self Centered EP

Kam Moye also known as Supastition is hands down one of the best emcess in North Carolina. (yeah I said it). With that being said Im sure there aren’t many out there who would disagree with me. Supa or Kam released the EP for free on his birthday a couple of days ago. If you want to get your ears on it click here. He has went with a few new producers on this release aside from M Phazes. All I can say is I would not have been dissapointed with this if I paid for it, and I got it for free. The production is solid and Kam it as natural on the mic as he always is. Stand out track to me is “Around the world”. Check it out! Its free.99!
